Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop & Maintain Reports: Design, build, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, contributing directly to our analytics solutions.
• DAX Implementation: Write, debug, and optimize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas to create calculated columns, measures, and tables for insightful analysis.
• Practical Data Modeling: Apply and optimize data modeling concepts, including understanding star schemas, relationships, and basic data optimization techniques to build efficient datasets.
• Performance Tuning: Identify and address performance issues within Power BI reports and datasets.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Actively troubleshoot and resolve data and report-related issues, collaborating with team members as needed.
• Support Self-Service Users: Provide practical support and guidance to business users on Power BI functionalities, helping them effectively utilize and create their own content.
• Adhere to Best Practices: Consistently apply established development standards, including security guidelines (e.g., Row-Level Security - RLS) and governance policies, to ensure the quality, reliability, and security of analytics across the organization.
• Continuous Learning: Proactively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge in advanced Power BI features, data warehousing concepts, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Technical Skills:
  • Exposure to DAX: Ability to write, understand, and debug DAX calculations.
  • Data Source Connectivity: Experience connecting to and transforming data from various enterprise sources
  • Exposure to Power BI Security: Experience with implementing basic Power BI security concepts, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Certifications: PL-300 Certification: Required as a baseline for your Power BI proficiency.

Skills, Specialized Knowledge (Desired):

• Understanding and ability to write simple DAX formulas for calculated columns, measures, and aggregations to derive insights from data
• Experience connecting Power BI to various data sources (Excel, SQL, CSV, etc.).
• Basic proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, and loading using Power Query.
• Ability to create basic data models, relationships, and hierarchies in Power BI.
• Skill in designing and building interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI visuals.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• More than 3 years of Power BI Development Experience: Proven hands-on experience in a professional setting developing and deploying Power BI reports and dashboards.
