MBA Intern, Corporate Strategy

Marlborough, MA, United States

Are you driven to tackle complex strategic questions and translate insights into tangible business value? Our Corporate Strategy team partners with leadership across Hologic's divisions to shape the company's long-term direction, drive growth, and execute critical enterprise-wide initiatives.

Throughout the 10 weeks you're with us, you'll have the opportunity to shape Hologic's strategic direction by joining our Corporate Strategy team this summer.

You will contribute directly to expanding Hologic's enterprise value by helping develop and refine the critical tools, processes, and insights that drive key strategic decision-making capabilities. This high-visibility internship offers a unique chance to contribute meaningfully across the spectrum of our work, gaining deep exposure to our long-range annual planning process, the Global Market Intelligence capability used to prioritize attractive markets, and the Global Portfolio Strategy practice designed to fuel organic innovation and shift our revenue mix towards higher growth markets over time. You will play an active role in operationalizing these vital capabilities, working at the intersection of strategy development and execution to help translate strategic vision into measurable business impact.

Your Impact & Responsibilities:

This role is designed for an experienced MBA candidate ready to make a mark. Your work won't just be theoretical; it will directly inform critical investment choices, market strategies, and operational improvements. You will leverage your analytical skills, process orientation, and strategic thinking to:

  • Architect & Embed Strategic Practices: Take a leading role in designing and driving the adoption of integrated business practice for Global Portfolio Strategy and Global Market Intelligence. You will translate these enhanced processes into clear operational playbooks designed to embed world-class strategic practices across the enterprise, building capabilities that shape Hologic's long-term competitiveness.
  • Drive High-Impact Strategic Analysis: Conduct critical analyses with direct visibility to leadership.
    Potential projects include:
    • Competitive deep-dives influencing enterprise/divisional strategy.
    • Market sizing and opportunity assessments informed by Global Market Intelligence.
    • Analysis of the internal investment portfolio (Global Portfolio Strategy) to identify trends, evaluate resource allocation, and inform prioritization aligned with shifting focus towards higher-growth areas.
  • Develop Financial & Analytical Models: Gain practical experience building and refining financial models that directly support strategic recommendations and investment decisions.
  • Contribute to Strategic Frameworks: Play a key role in developing foundational elements like process playbooks (particularly for Global Portfolio Strategy) and potentially contribute analysis informing build/buy/partner considerations.
  • Synthesize & Communicate Insights: Translate complex data and analyses into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

Your Growth & Development at Hologic:

We are committed to providing an environment where you can accelerate your growth as a strategic leader. This internship offers more than just project work; it's an apprenticeship in corporate strategy within a leading MedTech company.

  • Accelerated Learning: Immerse yourself in complex strategic challenges. You'll receive direct mentorship and coaching from experienced strategy professionals committed to your development.
  • Ownership & Visibility: This isn't a typical internship; you'll own significant components of critical initiatives and present your findings to senior leaders, ensuring your contributions are seen and valued.
  • A Voice That Matters: We expect you to bring fresh perspectives and challenge assumptions. Your ideas and analyses will be integral to shaping the outcome of these strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborative & Analytical Culture: Join a high-caliber team that thrives on rigorous analysis, collaborative problem-solving, and driving tangible results.
  • Purpose-Driven Impact: Contribute to the success of a company dedicated to improving women's health globally.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a top-tier MBA program
  • Approximately 3-5 years of pre-MBA professional experience, ideally bringing expertise in process design, consulting, or strategy within medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive work forward independently.
  • Exceptional analytical rigor and quantitative problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated strength in, and passion for, business process design, mapping, and optimization.
  • Strong financial acumen and aptitude/interest in financial modeling; expert-level Excel skills required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
  • Strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and familiarity with portfolio management concepts or analytical platforms are advantageous.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.

The hourly pay range for this role is $40 - $45 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
